SQUASH Programs
House Leagues
Our house leagues are at the heart of our community. They’re the best way to get consistent play and compete with players at your skill level.
Singles
Singles House League
The squash season is underway!
Our Singles Squash House League runs on Mondays throughout the regular season as a flexible, box ladder format. Contact Nicole if you are interested in joining! All levels welcome!
Doubles
Doubles House League
The season is underway and we have 28 teams participating in our Doubles Squash House League this fall!
This season we are excited to move to a new, four-team box ladder format with promotion & relegation. This will provide even more competitive and consistent games each session. During the season you can find all the doubles schedules and results when they are available here.
Competitive Squash
Competitive Inter-club Teams
The league is working on scheduling right now and schedules should be out soon.
Please let Nicole, or one of the captains know if you are interested in playing, either as a regular playing team member or as a sub. Skill assessment will determine final teams and placement.
Toronto & District Women’s Squash Association
We currently have women’s A and D singles teams. There is currently no men’s singles T&D league offered in the Durham Region but playing tournaments is a great way to get in some tough competition.
OSDL (Ontario Squash Doubles League)
Try out for one of our men’s or women’s teams and compete against intermediate and advanced players from clubs across Ontario. We currently have a women’s team and 3 men’s teams.
Social Squash
Round Robins & Drop-ins
Our members love getting together to play — whether it’s a casual doubles match, an impromptu game, or a friendly round-robin. Many of these sessions are organized by members themselves as they get to know each other through house leagues, creating opportunities to play with people who share similar goals, skills, or just enjoy each other’s company.
The best way to meet new people is by joining a house league — it’s a great way to connect with fellow players and, when you’re ready, start organizing your own games. Throughout the year, we also host fun events like the Annual General Meeting Round Robin and the Toy Drive Christmas Social, giving everyone more chances to enjoy squash and build community. What’s up nect
- AGM Fun Round Robin Monday, Sep 29, following the meeting at 6pm
- Freedom 55 Doubles. Friendly round robin Friday Mornings – 8:30 – 10am
FAQs
Here are some common questions our members have.
How do I find my house league schedule and results?
For the singles house league, please check in with Nicole.
For the doubles house league, the Doubles Coordinator contacts you to let you know your schedule. We are working on a new system for Doubles schedules and results so please be patient as we smooth out the edges. When available, you can find the Doubles House League schedule here.
How do I sign up for events and tournaments?
Tournament and event sign-up information, including deadlines and costs, will be posted in the Club News section and on the dedicated Events page. Most registrations for our tournaments will take place on Club Locker. Group squash play such as the Toy Drive or AGM will be handled by Nicole and you will get an email with instruction, please signal your interest directly to her.
How do I sign up for House league?
Our Fall season starts in September, and house leagues often start towards the end of September. You need to have both a CHDRC squash membership and a Pickering Squash Club membership to play. Check your email inbox for announcements and instructions on how to sign up.
Alternatively, if you have missed the sign up, you can sign up any time as a sub for either singles or doubles. Doubles requires you to sign up with a partner to play. If you don’t have a partner, you can sign up to be on the sub list. Coming out to the doubles drop-ins helps you meet new people, and potentially new partners.
What is the new doubles format?
This season, our Doubles House League is moving to a four-team box ladder format with promotion and relegation. This format is designed to provide more consistent, skill-matched games each session. Official rules to come.
What’s the difference between member-organized and club-sanctioned play?
To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players, we have created a clear distinction between these two types of play at our club. We encourage all members to be aware of these guidelines.
Player-Organized Play This refers to a game or a series of games booked by an individual or a group of players. These are private arrangements and are by invitation only and must be booked in the booking system. If you have not been specifically invited to a player-organized game, you should not assume you can join. You can typically identify these private games by checking the court booking.
Club-Sanctioned Play These are official club events such as leagues, round-robins, tournaments and other events that are organized by the club. In the booking system, you can identify club-sanctioned times by their deeper blue colour and the booking description listed beside the time. Participation in these events may be based on specific criteria to ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone. The specific criteria for joining a Club-Sanctioned Event will always be clearly communicated and posted on the website.
How do I book a lesson?
Please contact Nicole. You can use our contact form, or you can contact her directly.
Can I book a Clinic?
Please contact Nicole to book a clinic and to find out minimum numbers. You can use our contact form, or you can contact her directly.
How do I report a maintenance issue?
We value your feedback and want to ensure a safe and well-maintained facility for everyone. Because we are an independent club operating within a city-run facility, there are separate channels for different types of issues.
For Facility or Maintenance Issues: Please report all maintenance issues (e.g., a broken light, a court issue, a locker room problem) directly to the city staff at the front desk at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (formerly known as the Pickering Recreation Complex). The city is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the facility. This is the fastest and most efficient way to get these issues resolved.
For Club-Related Concerns: If your concern is about a club program, a member policy, or an organizational matter, please contact the executive committee through our contact form or speak to us directly.
Official Club Representation As a volunteer-run organization, only the executive committee is authorized to make a formal complaint or communicate on behalf of the club as a whole. If you believe an issue requires official representation, please bring it to the attention of the executive committee, and we will take the appropriate steps. This helps us maintain a strong, positive relationship with the city and ensures our voice is heard.
Who do I contact if I have a question?
You can use our contact form on our website and our web team will forward it to the right person. Alternatively, you contact any of our executive directors for questions and they can either answer your question, find out the information for you, or direct you to the right source.
