It’s hard to believe another fantastic squash season is behind us! Looking back over the past year, our club has achieved so much together—from top-tier coaching to major off-court improvements. Here is a look back at what made this season so memorable:
🎉 Season Highlights & Milestones
- Singles House League: Week in and week out, the singles house league brought high intensity, tight games, and great matchups across all levels.
- Doubles House League: Every week, players anxiously refreshed the scorecard to see where they landed in their boxes—moving up, sliding down, or holding their ground. And, of course, a special shout-out to those who scored a lucky “free pass” when their opponents couldn’t quite get their calendars aligned to schedule a match!
- OSDL Doubles Success: Our competitive doubles teams had an incredible run this year, with three teams making it to the finals: Men’s Division 4 – Champions! Men’s Division 3 – Finalists, Women’s Division 2 Finalists! Thanks to their stellar play, the men’s teams have earned a promotion to the next division for the upcoming season.
- Women’s T&D Singles Teams: A massive congratulations to our brand-new Women’s D Team! For a newly formed squad, these amazing women hit the courts with incredible energy, had an outstanding inaugural season, and proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
- Unforgettable Banquet: We wrapped up the official season in style with an incredible End-of-Season Banquet! It was fantastic to celebrate all the hard work, competition, and camaraderie that make our club so special.
- Pro Clinics & Skill Building: Members had the unique opportunity to learn from the best with special clinics featuring squash pros Hollie Naughton and Ahad Raza.
- Elevating Our Game: Throughout the year, we rolled out targeted clinics to help players fine-tune both their singles and doubles games, alongside official Singles and Doubles Reffing Clinics led by top referees to keep our games sharp and fair.
- Club Championships: The season culminated in an exciting End-of-Year Club Championship featuring incredible matches and competitive spirit across all divisions.
🛠️ Executive & Club Upgrades
Your Executive Committee worked hard behind the scenes this year to modernize and grow the club:
- New TV Display Screens: The Executive pushed hard to get new TV screens installed in the complex, giving us a dynamic visual space to display news, photos, and club updates, and facilitate the tournaments’ live updates.
- Member Survey: We kicked off the year with a comprehensive member survey to truly understand what matters most to you and guide our decisions.
- WhatsApp Community Group: We launched an official WhatsApp group to keep everyone connected and informed in real-time about upcoming events, drop-ins, and news.
- New Branding & Continuation of City Partnership: To support membership growth and strengthen our partnership with the City of Pickering, we designed and printed brand-new signage and brochures, and worked with the city to install the new TVs display screen in the singles and doubles squash courts.
🌟 2025/2026 Chris Doona Award Winners

The Chris Doona Award is presented annually to individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and volunteer spirit within our club. This year, we are thrilled to announce two outstanding recipients: Jackie Ferrier and Jim Delouchry!
- Jim Delouchry: Serving on the Executive Board, Jim is known around the courts for his sunny disposition, warm welcome to new members, and constant support for both the executive team and players. Jim tirelessly manages our Doubles House League—fielding questions, organizing teams, entering scores, and keeping everything running seamlessly. This year, he introduced a brand-new ladder system for the doubles house league, which has injected a fantastic new level of competitive energy into the game! Beyond league play, Jim organized the printing of our new stand-up banners to boost the club’s visibility, and he’s always among the very first to step up and volunteer at our tournaments, clinics, and events throughout the year.
- Jackie Ferrier: Serving on the Executive Board, Jackie developed and spearheaded the club’s new marketing strategy focused on both attracting new members and retaining our vibrant squash community. Her work includes a complete brand refresh, along with writing the copy and designing our new website, club signage, brochures and social media. She also added custom features to the site like our new doubles dynamic scheduling and scoring system, contact form and keeps it updated with fresh content. Beyond strategy, design and writing, Jackie creates captivating photography and video for our website, social media accounts, and our new TV display screens. A former Women’s C Singles Team Captain, she’s also a staple on the doubles court, where you’ll frequently find her enthusiastically recruiting singles players to step over to the “dark side” and experience the fast-paced thrill of doubles!
Please join us in thanking and congratulating both Jim and Jackie for their immense contributions to our club! Learn more about the Christ Doona Award.
